BAYSIDE PAGANS

Newly elected Republican Queens councilman Dan Halloran is an animal sacrificing Pagan, and everyone’s being an asshole about it. Halloran, a former cop and lawyer, practices a pre-Christian faith based on Germanic and Celtic tribal religions called Theodism. The new councilman even serves as the king, or “First Atheling,” of a local tribe, 120 strong, called New Normandy. In keeping with the original tenants of the faith, Halloran’s tribe practices humane (?) ritual animal sacrifice, which has become the focus of the bigoted against him. Obviously democrats are going to blow off some steam after losing a seat, but why attack a Pagan Republican for being Pagan? I for one welcome this rebirth of the Grand Old Party. It sure as shit beats the current brand of religion plaguing that party.
