CLOCKCLEANER WE HARDLY KNEW YE
When said asshole, John A.W. Sharkey III (check the initials), told us the band were finally calling it a day we pulled a full Kübler-Ross, the tears and shirt-rending and pleas to the almighty only giving way to acceptance when we learned that in order to buy tickets for the final concert, fans had to write Clockcleaner a short essay on why they deserve to attend. Our own entry, “Reexamining the Socio-Political Impact of Third-Wave Ska on the Philadelphia Fishtown Community, 1996-2004,” must have really touched a cord with Sharkey, because not only were we guaranteed entry, he even let us bring cameras to film it. Then we pushed our luck by asking if they could turn up the house lights for a song so the double-strobes wouldn’t give our entire viewership epilepsy.
Anyways, without further blahbbage, we hope you enjoy this brief little snippet from “The Great Auf Wiedersehn in the Sky.”
(BTW, you can rest assured that Russ and Lea from Blues Control are on Sharkey’s good list as they came down to DJ the gig. Then again, this was a couple months ago…)
