CREEPY ALIEN MERMAIDS OF JAPAN

For the last few years rumors of enormous, humanoid sea creatures floating around Antarctic waters have been bubbling up in Japan. The creatures are known as Nigen and they look a lot like someone dressed up in a last minute ghost costume made of rubber. The Nigen reports hold more weight than your average Bigfoot sighting largely because they’re coming from the government’s infamous “whale research” vessels. Eyewitnesses describe the creatures as between 20 and 30 feet long with legs, arms, and five-fingered hands. Unsurprisingly, many believe the creature to be an urban legend concocted on a popular Japanese website (the text from the original post available here) for anyone who reads Japanese. Still, it’s nice to image the Ningen as sea mammal spirit warriors coming to deliver a blubber-fueled fiery vengeance on the Japanese for their incessant “research”.
