Our Best Photos of Australia Since Last Australia Day

Happy Australia Day, the day we commemorate everything about Australia that's been deemed good (mateship, sport, Aussie ingenuity) and not culturally awkward (genocide, Taylor Swift) by doing what we do best: drinking.

Happy Australia Day, the day we commemorate everything about Australia that's been deemed good (mateship, sport, Aussie ingenuity) and not culturally awkward (genocide, Taylor Swift) by doing what we do best: drinking. On this day a new raft of honourees will be awarded for their contributions to Australian-ness while many of the nation's First Peoples sigh a collective what the fuck. Meanwhile, if statistics hold true, alcohol-fuelled assaults will double around the country and emergency rooms will once again be full of under-25-year-olds nursing all kinds of trauma.
