Road Trip: Finding Marion Barry

On Monday former VICE managing editor and recently appointed cultural news editor of the Daily Beast Michael Moynihan and I headed to Washington, DC to see what our nation's great capital had to say on the day of the third presidential debate between Mitt Romney and Barack Obama. Our whirlwind excursion brought us within crack-smoke-blowing distance from Marion Barry, to a joint Ru-Paul's Drag Race/debate party at DC's premier gay sports bar, and, finally, inside the gurgling mind of an acid freak with napkin rings in his earlobes. You can watch all that and more in the Beast TV video above, which is a follow-up of sorts to the trip I took to Boston with the Daily Beast's senior national security correspondent Eli Lake to get the real scoop on Romney's campaign HQ.
