Rogue Inflatable Minion Falls, Wreaks Havoc on Traffic in Ireland

A giant inflatable Minion fell in Dublin, blocking traffic and damaging at least one vehicle.

Escaped Minion at Omni in Santry may seem hilarious but its a dispicable breach of health & safety — Cllr Paul McAuliffe (@PaulMcauliffe)August 3, 2015

Regardless of whether or not you think Minions are good, bad, or problematic, it's now impossible to deny that at least one Minion has done a bad thing. In Dublin, a giant inflatable Minion was blown down in a heavy wind, blocking traffic and causing damage to at least one vehicle, the Irish Times reports.

Dublin Councillor Paul Mcauliffe, who posted a picture of the downed Minion on Twitter, spoke to the Irish Times, saying, "I don't want to sound like a killjoy, but if that had landed on a cyclist, for instance, it could have been serious." The politician went on to add, "If you take the Minion part of it out, if this was a large inflatable weather balloon that had not been properly tethered, there would be no humor in this story at all."

As of publishing time, Minions has grossed $850 million worldwide, including nearly $60 million in Ireland. If, for some reason, the giant inflatable Minion had killed someone, that would have been deeply uncool. However, the Minions will never stop being popular, even if they literally killed somebody.
