A billion-dollar defense system known as the “Iron Dome” has helped protect Israel from rocket attacks since it was installed in 2011. Given the recent upsurge in the Israel-Hamas conflict, the demand for the Iron Dome as a powerful defensive weapon has intensified. We wanted to know if targeting Hamas was an absolute necessity now that Israel was so well defended, so we paid a visit to an Israeli military briefing at the site of the Iron Dome. Afterward, we headed south to watch Israeli soldiers prepare for the apparent ceasefire that was to happen between Israel and Hamas in Egypt.
