Modern Slavery Statement
The board of Vice Europe Holding Ltd, on behalf of itself and its subsidiaries that carry on business in the United Kingdom ( VICE), has approved this statement for the financial year ending, 31 December 2016.
This statement is made pursuant to section 54 of the Modern Slavery Act 2015 (Act) and outlines the steps that have been taken by VICE to ensure that slavery or human trafficking is not taking place in its supply chains.

VICE is the world's preeminent youth media company and content creation studio. Launched in 1994, VICE now operates in over 30 countries and distributes its programming to viewers across digital, linear, mobile, film and socials. Through partnerships with leading media, tech and telecom companies, VICE will expand to bring its programming to over 80 territories worldwide by the beginning of 2018.
A multifaceted business, VICE includes an expanding international network of digital channels; a television and feature film production studio; a magazine; a record label; in-house creative services agencies; and a newly launched international television network, VICELAND.
WHAT IS MODERN SLAVERY?
For the purposes of this statement, slavery and human trafficking is based on the definitions set out in the Act. VICE recognises that slavery can manifest itself in many different ways such as child labour, domestic servitude, sex trafficking and workplace abuses and it can include restrictions on an individual's freedom of movement, whether physical or non-physical.
OUR POSITION
VICE has a zero-tolerance approach to slavery or human trafficking within its businesses or by any of its third party suppliers. VICE is not aware of, and holds no information to suggest that poor or inappropriate labour conditions are present within any of VICE's supply chains.
OUR SUPPLIERS
The core focus of VICE's business is the production of media content for our digital platforms on VICE.com and on our television channel, VICELAND. The roles' being performed by our suppliers are mainly technical and/or professional in nature and therefore VICE perceives that the risk of modern slavery and human trafficking within its business and supply chains is low.
OUR ACTIONS
To ensure that all parts of our business and supply chains are slavery and human trafficking free, we are in the process of reviewing our internal workplace policies and procedures. As part of this initiative, we are also developing systems to:
- Educate our business units on compliance with the Act and other related legislation.
- Identify and assess potential risk areas within our business units.
- Encourage whistle-blowers to speak up about any concerns they have about our business . practices or the practices of our suppliers.
This year we are also introducing measures which will require suppliers to consider their own compliance with the Act and other similar legislation, and where appropriate, to provide warranties and assurances about their current and future actions to reduce slavery and human trafficking.
