BACARDÍ rum has been kicking around for more than a century and a half, during which time its founders – the Bacardí family in Cuba – have faced earthquakes, a fire that destroyed their distillery, a revolution, prohibition and exile.Some of these stories have been documented in a new graphic novel, The Spirit of BACARDÍ, created by the legendary writer Warren Ellis and artist Michael Allred.The novel focuses on Emilio Bacardí – son of founder Don Facundo Bacardí Massó and his work for Cuban independence in the late 1800s.
