NEW YORK - DEVIL MUSIC
Hey, what're you up to tonight? Sitting in a bar in half a costume? That's pretty cool... Look, this is going to sound a little gay at first, but hear us out. They are showing Nosferatu tonight at the Village East Cinema with a live score, and before you go rolling your eyes back over to the bar, it's not some symphony nerds painstakingly recreating the original accompaniment for a bunch of pie-eyed Upper West Side self-congratulators like they always do at the fucking Cloisters or wherever. It is these guys, Devil Music Ensemble, who've written their own soundtrack with guitar, electric violin, and drums which sounds somewhere in the middle ground between Emperor and the Castlevania music. They're showing it twice, at 7:30 and 9:30, and here's all the info if you're interested.
