OLD BLUE LAST - BACK ON POINT
No prizes for guessing what colour we painted The Old Blue Last. The outside needed a bit of a facelift. Inside, we've also stepped it up by booking a whole bunch of bands that will blow your mind, or something like that. In the next few days you can look forward to Ungdomskulen, Those Dancing Days, Effi Briest and Sam Champion. Find out more after the jump...
On Thursday we've got Norwegian riff-experimentalists Ungdomskulen, who are really quite amazing live. On Friday it's Bosh! and the first UK show ever, anywhere by Swedish cute-as-pie, all-girl pop group Those Dancing Days, who everyone seems to be getting really excited about. Get there for I-saw-them-before-you blagging rights.
On Saturday Shitting Fists present a rare UK performance by psychedlic free-folk collective Sunburned Hand Of The Man. They eat Devandra Banhart for breakfast and tend to hit people a lot, so mind out. Finally on Sunday we've got a delightful double-bill to round off your weekend featuring bands from Brooklyn that everyone will be talking about in six months time. Recent Loog signings Effi Briest play spooked post-punk and will involve lots of girls. We also have perrenial over-achieving indie-pop underdog Sam Champion, who recently profiled on Practice Space.
