Question Of The Day

Who Would You Hire to Run Your Life?

"You. I would love to be led by you. Now, where shall we go?"

Imagine you had an endless budget and control over time and could hire whoever you wanted to take control of your life and turn you into everything you ever hoped you could be. Who would you choose to do just that?

Cat: Randomly, probably Richard Branson, to be honest. He’ll sort me out and get me some money.

So he'd fund your decisions for you as well as making them?
Yes, and he’ll get me an island. I can have a fun party there and it'll be sound.

Rowan: Do they have to be alive?

Not necessarily.
Oh Jesus.

Jesus?
Oh god – no, not him. Maybe someone like Ernest Hemingway. Yeah, I’m going with him. It might be a bit clichéd, but he lived his life properly.

Didn’t he shoot himself?
Yeah, he wasn’t always happy, but he left a legacy.

Fair enough.

Alexandra: My best friend.

Who’s that?
A guy who’s living in Canada. Actually, we haven’t met yet, but he will come to London soon.

Okay. So wait – you’re choosing someone you've never met?
Yeah. He knows everything about me and I know everything about him, and he’s a great person and able to make good decisions.

And you fully trust him?
I know, it’s crazy.

Olivier: You.

Why me?
Because you have a recorder in your hand.

You’re putting your life in my hands because of my dictaphone?
Yes. I would love to be led by you. Now, where shall we go?

Let's stay in a well-populated area.

Rob: It’s got to be Richard Branson.

Someone already picked him. He’s busy.
I’m not surprised. I would want to be as successful as him, so I’d have to have his way of thinking and make the same decisions.

Anyone else out there for you?
Simon Cowell.

You’re all about the money, aren't you?
Yeah, and he doesn’t get up until midday.

Jordan: My mum. But no, actually – I wouldn’t want to her to control my life.

Do you think she’d do a good job?
Yeah, she’s done a good job so far. Well, she’s done alright.

Would she lead you in a different direction, decision wise?
In terms of career choices, yes. But I get loads of my vintage clothes from her, so she’d dress me the same.

Oh good.
