The video game version of Mad Max is out now and, if I may be so bold as to say so, it's pretty bloody good. And really bloody pretty, too, one of the more visually arresting interactive post-apocalypse experiences you're going to have anytime soon.

The Avalanche Studios-developed, Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment-published open-world adventure left an immediate impression on me when I previewed it in the summer – words, here – and now I'm playing it at home I still feel that it's an excellent example of the sandbox genre, one where survival can be tough and all the tough can do to get by is scoff corpse-infesting maggots and beat down bloodthirsty savages to steal their water and fuel. By any means, basically, is the creed to conform to.

And courtesy of Warner Bros., VICE has a rather lovely Mad Max-themed prize to give away.
