ZINE CREAMER - DON'T TREAD ON ME
Ben Rayner's new zines are here. Following on from the canine wonderland that was Hello Buddy!, he's releasing two simultaneously. Don't Tread On Me is a visual record of 2009, or at least a visual record of what Ben did in 2009. California Screaming is, yes, a visual record of what Ben did in California in 2009. Ben is bringing us lucky kids a few copies later, but if you want to see more, read an incredibly professional Q+A with him, and maybe find out how to buy them.
Vice: Shall I do a quick iChat Q+A?
Ben: Yep, do it now.
OK. Why did you put me – in a dress, on the floor – on the cover of Don't Tread On Me?
'Cause I think it sums up that part of last year for me: dresses, drinking, the lot. All funny.
So the whole zine is made up of photos from last year?
This is all from 2009. I originally made it in the summer using photos from between January and April, I believe, but never got the chance to print it.
How's it looking now?
Now it's all lovely, printed with a perfect bound cover.

Lovely. And do you prefer these or Hello Buddy!? Different sorts of buddies I guess.
I like them all, there's a buddy in Don't Tread On Me and another one in California Screaming.
When are they coming out?
They're both done. I have a box of them.
See, don't let anyone tell you we don't know our journalism round here. If you want to buy any of Ben's zines, go to his blog, or more specifically go here for Hello Buddy!, and here for Don't Tread On Me and California Dreaming. Well done, buddy.
