GOD HATES BROOKLYN TECHNICAL

Hey New York, guess who’s in town today? I’ll give you a hint: They believe in limited atonement, protest soldier’s funerals, and boy oh boy do they ever hate gay people. That’s right, it’s the Westboro Baptist Church. Starting right now in front of the United Nations the Church begins a day long tour of the city. Tomorrow they move on to Flushing and Great Neck, or “Great Stiffened Neck” according to their bizarre epithet.

Anyway, if you’re in Brooklyn in about three hours you might head on over to Brooklyn Technical High School to witness the seminal hate group of our time do what they do best: ruin a beautiful afternoon. It’s difficult to determine why exactly the WBC is protesting a technical high school and their site offers little in the way of explanation, but maybe it’s worth stopping by to laugh at them.. From the protest description:

“Yo, God Hates Fags! 29 Fort Greene Place Yo what’s up God haters? Why you teach “It’s okay to be gay?” Why you think you have to act like such brutes up there in Brooklyn? Why do you hate your neighbours, contrary to scripture? WBC will be on hand to teach the rebels of Brooklyn what good looks like, and you had better behave."
