In the third episode of Picture Perfect, Vice meets up with Dutch photographer Rob Hornstra in Utrecht, the Netherlands. There, we discuss his advocacy for slow journalism and the genesis of his ongoing Sochi Project.
Rob and writer/filmmaker Arnold van Bruggen plan to document the changes in the area around Sochi, Russia over the five years leading up to its role as host of the 2014 WInter Olympics.
Rob takes us along to Sochi as photographs lounge singers in restaurants, cabarets and hotel lobbies.
