A Two-Second Interview with Tacocat at SXSW

An intimate chat with Tacocat in Austin.

Running around at nerdy band camp (AKA, SXSW) I pulled the members of Tacocat into a corner before their set at Cheer Up Charlies yesterday and made them talk to me. I made a joke about how when you're shy and bordering on Asperger's, holding a tape recorder is a good way to FORCE people to hang out with you. They giggled politely.

VICE: When did you guys get into Austin?
Tacocat: At like two in the morning. This is the first show we're playing.

If you guys weren't in a band, would you come here for fun?
Festivals are a little intense, and this one seems really intense.

I heard that Lionel Richie is here.
WHOA!

(At this point some guy with a beard came over and talked to the band for a bit before realizing that they were doing an interview. We all laughed at his foolish error. Just kidding, it was no big deal.)

So you guys are from Seattle? Do you like Texas?
Yup, we're from Seattle. Texas is okay. We really like Austin.

Do you guys have anything coming out we should know about?
Our new 7" just came out on Hardly Art, it's called Take Me To Your Dealer.

COOL! Well I'm gonna go eat some mutherfuckin pork belly and wipe the grease off my face with a cigarette butt. BYE!
