If you've spent any time at all on our site in the past few years you've probably heard about Acrassicauda. (Wow, we're really on a metal rock block today.) They've been plastered all up and down the place, in the magazine, in the news, and in shows like VBS's Practice Space. We'd be really surprised if you haven't heard about some part of their plight by now, so we'll just tell you that they're here and the first movie they saw in a theater was the one we made about them. Heavy Metal in Baghdad, it's called, and the documentary was met with widespread critical acclaim when released in 2007. You really should have seen it by now. Luckily for the slackers out there, you'll have a chance to watch this Saturday.
Heavy Metal in Baghdad is showing at the MoMA as part of the Spike Jonze retrospective. It's being screened in HD, which is great if you're a nerd who cares about things like that. Tickets are $10 (or free if you're a MoMA member), and the screening starts at 4:30 tomorrow. Seeing as the event is highly likely to sell out, get there a little early and avoid feeling like a loser who went all the way uptown only to be turned away at the door.
