Damn Terran is playing our VICE Presents party this Thursday in Melbourne, alongside Deep Heat. There'll be plenty of free beer there, which should mean (if our calculations are correct) there'll be lots of you there too. Lachlan from Damn Terran made us this playlist to prime everybody ahead of their headlining slot. We called him to talk about it.
Lachlan Ewbank: We're Damn Terran and we live in Melbourne. We've been playing around for almost two years now and have just finished touring around for our new single 'Rebels'. We're touring again in June/July and then in August we're planning to record a debut album.When we talked about the show on Twitter two things happened: you asked about beer and someone in the USA told us they loved you. Please explain both.
Firstly… Being musicians we all like beer, but we love free beer even more. I also just needed to know how hungover I'm going to be for work the next day.And the other?
I believe that USA someone was our dear friend Tyler from Oakland, CA. Leigh and I met him a while ago when we were over there. We're hoping to get ourselves over there after the album is done because we'd love to turn that 1 fan into 2 no matter how wrong that sounds. If you're ever in San Francisco you should go to Serano's pizza because it's awesome… and Tyler might be there.Thanks for that. OK, so you’ve made us a playlist, there’s a lot of 90s in there.
Hey come on now, there's only about 3 of those songs that are 90s. When I was making this list up I realised that I haven't been listening to much music lately because I have shitty headphones where all I can hear is guitar, vocals and cymbals. I was going to include some Holy Fuck as well as a few other bands but they didn't suit what I was going for.Just finally, would you rather clap at a funeral or boo at a wedding?
