Delicious with Mish Episode Five: Featuring White Poppy

Who here likes opiates? You? Me? Me. I love them. Opiates are my biggest vice. So, when I first discovered the band White Poppy I was automatically smitten. Not only is the band named after the plant that makes my favorite drug, but White Poppy’s debut EP I Had A Dream is the only thing I want to listen to when I am on morphine. This week I invited the one-woman genius behind White Poppy, Crystal Dorval, to join me in a discussion of music, opiates, stage fright, Peaches Geldolf saving her iPhone over her baby, and what it was like when Crystal toured with the most disgusting man in rock n’ roll, Mac DeMarco. In honor of White Poppy’s opium vibes we played other bands of that downer nature including Peaking Lights, Ariel Pink and Faust. We also dipped into the downers. Happy listening.
