Diablo Cody Is Working on a 'Barbie' Movie

Diablo Cody—the screenwriter behind Juno, among other things—was just tapped by Sony Pictures to rewrite a script for their upcoming Barbie movie, Deadline reports. Jenny Bicks wrote the comedy's initial draft, and Cody has come on board to spruce it up. After the success of The LEGO Movie, toy companies are grasping for toys that can carry film franchises, and Mattel is hoping Barbie can do that. Diablo Cody is known for writing about teen pregnancy, satanic cheerleaders, and her time working as a stripper, so maybe we'll see a more grown up side of Barbie in the upcoming film. The doll was inspired by a European sex toy, after all.
