Dog Zine Issue Release Party

When I saw this zine on our online editor’s desk earlier today I grabbed it, flipped through the pages, flipped through again, then looked at him out of the corner of my eye and thought about quickly sliding it into my purse. But before I could, he looked back at me with one of those “What the fuck are you doing?” looks. I asked as casually as possible, “Hey, can I have this?” And he said, “Yeah, right. Get your filthy hands off that shit. It’s mine.” And then he snatched it out of my hands and put it in his drawer. Which, admittedly, is exactly what I would have done if our roles were reversed.

The zine in question is called DOG, and tonight the folks behind it are celebrating its launch at AMO studios and showcasing a bunch of fun, summery photos from 18 NYC-based artists. Images include rope swings, naked people, dreamy girls, a guy stuffed into one of those plastic things that comforters come in, a cat’s pee hole, roller coasters, fruit, steamy forests, and beach stuff. It goes till ten with music, beer, and, apparently, dog snacks.
