HAT

“An old hat I got from a vintage shop. NME called this a major fashion crime so I liked it even more after that.”

JACKET

“It's my Gabardine and I like it.”

SCRAPBOOK

“The scrapbook is just a collection of ideas for songs, some good ideas and some shit, but I can always find a good line in there somewhere to make a starting point on a new song. There’s also cuttings from the local East London Advertiser and some photos.”

HARMONICA

“The harmonica came from a boot sale in France. It’s huge because it has the key of C on one side and the key of G on the other. It’s old and it smells but it looks great and makes this weird chorusey sound that gets right on my girlfriend’s nerves.”

SUNGLASSES

“These are vintage Ray-Bans.”

SEVEN-INCH SINGLE OF "ECSTASY" BY JOHNNY KIDD AND THE PIRATES

“Johnny Kidd is one of my heroes and “Shaking All Over” is the best British rock‘n’roll record of all time.”

"BAD BOY" BY THE JIVE BOMBERS

“This is my favourite doo-wop song, I love the lines in it like: 'I'm just a bad boy, all dressed up in fancy clothes and life is just a bowl of cherries.' The lead vocal is magical and when I'm drunk I like to wail it at the top of my voice.”

BOOTS

“I had those boots made for me when I came into a few hundred quid when my great gran died. I decided to blow it on one thing rather than piss it away on beer, and I always wanted to get a pair of shoes made for me.They were made by a French girl called Natacha who works out of a rubber sex clothing workshop on the Holloway Road called House of Harlot.”

BROKEN FAN

“This is an old fan that I found in a junk shop. It used to have two more fans on it but it was broken somehow. You operate it by pressing this button the side. I like the fact it was manually operated.”
