Melchior Tersen's Shiny Happy People

You may remember French photographer Melchior Tersen from his pictures of a pig's foot in a glass and a pineapple with a plastic nose that were in our Photo Issue. Now he's working on a series called Communauté that features portraits of concertgoers at shows by Lady Gaga, Nicki Minaj, some guy named Johnny Hallyday, and a big metal festival. The photos document people who may consider themselves to be outsiders in their everyday lives, but feel at home at these shows, among people who love doing the same stuff they do. It gives us the warm-and-fuzzies. Melchior was kind enough to let us publish some images from the series, many of them previously unreleased. Check them out above.
