House Democrats voted to reelect Nancy Pelosi for another term as their leader on Wednesday, handily defeating opponent Tim Ryan, the Washington Post reports.

Pelosi won 134 to 63 against the Ohio representative, whose last-minute bid to challenge Pelosi as House leader was seen as more of a symbolic gesture than a real threat to her 14-year tenure, calling for a shake-up in party leadership following the devastating results of November's election.

Ryan maintained that Pelosi had lost touch with working-class voters, saying that he "could make a big difference pulling those Trump voters back." Pelosi, who mostly avoided a debate with Ryan in the time leading up to the House vote, maintained that she had "strong support from our friends in the unions, including steelworkers."

Following her decisive victory, Pelosi tweeted, "Let's get to work."
