Play for Pizza - Why Old Flame Records Is the Best

Life lesson: you can beg for free pizza on Twitter, and it will get sent to you, but it only works if you're a super cool music journalist with questionable morals and ethics.

If there's one thing you need to know about journalists, it's that we're very poor, and have questionable ethics. Anything cool I own, I either save up for or am given for free because someone wants something from me … which is GREAT! Today I decided that I was too ashamed to walk to the VICE HQ kitchen with yet another pack of Ramen, so I made the most out of my resources by Tweeting the following:

Within minutes (and yes, I'm aware of the typo), I received a reply from my new favorite record label, Old Flame Records:

At this point I was trying to not get too excited because people have told me that they were gonna send me things before, and then they flaked. I'm specifically thinking about the dominatrix January Seraph who I interviewed not too long ago who promised to send me some sex claws (long story) but never did, and I was heartbroken. But Old Flame actually put out!

Turns out, Vinnie's in Williamsburg doesn't take credit cards, so they sent Papa John's, which I actually enjoy, even though I'm from Chicago, live in Brooklyn, and should very much know better.

Here's the part where I drop my panties and give Old Flame Records what they paid for.
