Predator and Balkans are two bands from Atlanta who are good. They both have a lo-fi sound that’s kind of reminiscent of… I dunno. Describing music is beyond bullshit, so why don't we base this on the way things actually work in the biz: what people look like and who's friends with who.
Predator is a trio of super funny, nice dudes whose band shirts consist of their name and a giant pot leaf. The guitarist and bassist have been best friends forever. One of the ways you can tell this is that when one of them makes really, really bad Catskills-like jokes, the other one always laughs in an enabling way. See? Best friends. Balkans are a group of underage kids (the oldest is 20) with sweet faces, a few zits, and their drummer bares a resemblance to a teenage Kramer. Hopefully that should be enough to get you excited. Both of them play tonight at Union Pool with The Stalkers. I promise it will be good. Photes by Joeff Davis
