"Our goal is to go from bright to brighter to brightest, from high to higher to highest. And even in the highest, there is no end to our progress, for God Himself is inside each of us and God at every moment is transcending His own reality." - Sri Chinmoy

For this week's Mahal, I got to check out a Peace Concert at the Unitarian Church of All Souls on Lexington Avenue in New York City. During his life, Sri Chinmoy put on over 800 peace concerts, during which he would combine soulful performances of his haunting music with extremely high periods of meditative consciousness. This particular peace concert marked the fifth anniversary of the Bengali guru's death. Hundreds joined together to watch archival footage of Sri on a big screen and hear live musical performances. Everything sounded peaceful, even video of Sri banging of his fists on a piano. The church was flooded with an atmosphere of deep inner peace. However, before the concert began, one man stormed out saying, "This is deception. There is no peace. There will never be peace in this world." Other than that, everyone was pretty into it.
