Tao Lin and Giancarlo DiTrapano Read "Andrew"

Somehow these two men are still alive, and on Saturday night they're giving a reading of ""Andrew" a Dialogue of Texts in the Year of Drugs and Kindness."

When Giancarlo DiTrapano sent us the transcript of one year of text messages between himself and Tao Lin, we figured they'd both be dead within a couple of months. The amount of illicit substance those two put into their bodies between early July 2010 and late June 2011 was nothing short of astonishing. We published the piece online near the end of summer to a decidedly mixed reaction. Some people thought it was fake (it's not), others thought it was stupid (it is), and still others thought it was a neat and funny insidery look at a year in the lives of two talented, drug-addled young men (absolutely).

Regardless of where your opinion of the piece lies, it would be hard to argue that hearing Tao and Gian read the whole thing live at a bar wouldn't be pretty entertaining. Tonight at KGB Bar that's happening, along with readings by Daniel Long, Michael Bible, and Chiara Barzini. The soiree start at 7, which, we realize, is in like three and a half hours. Sorry. Take a Percocet and meet us there.
