Former CIA deputy director Michael Morell has publicly endorsed Hillary Clinton for president, writing in a scathing New York Times op-ed that Trump is "unqualified" and possibly a "threat to national security."Morell, who was "at President George W. Bush's side" on 9/11 and worked closely with Clinton when she was secretary of state, said that he has previously avoided taking political stands, but this election has compelled him to make a change."In sharp contrast to Mrs. Clinton, Mr. Trump has no experience on national security," Morell wrote in Friday's op-ed. "Even more important, the character traits he has exhibited during the primary season suggest he would be a poor, even dangerous, commander in chief."Morell also questioned whether Putin has been preying on Trump's weaknesses, manipulating the Republican nominee into becoming "an unwitting agent of the Russian Federation.""Our nation will be much safer with Hillary Clinton as president," he said.Trump, of course, immediately lashed back at Morell in response.
