Donald Trump Allies Claim He Is a Tax 'Genius'
Allies of Donald Trump are defending his tax activities after revelations he declared a $916 million loss in 1995 and could have legally paid no federal income taxes for 18 years as a result. Former NYC mayor Rudolph Giuliani said Trump is a "genius" who "knows how to operate the tax code for the people that he's serving." Embattled New Jersey governor Chris Christie, meanwhile, claims Trump is best suited to overhaul the federal tax code.—The New York Times

Six People Shot in Minneapolis
Six people were shot in the early hours of Monday morning in two separate shootings in Minneapolis, according to police. One of the victims, struck in the chest, was listed in serious condition a local hospital.—CNN

Kim Kardashian Robbed at Gunpoint
Kim Kardashian West was robbed at gunpoint in her Paris hotel room by at least two men dressed as police officers. A spokeswoman for Kardashian said she was "badly shaken but physically unharmed." The lost property amounts to at least several million dollars, mostly jewelry. Kanye West abruptly ended a show in New York upon learning of the incident.—USA Today

Man Who Filmed Eric Garner Death Heads to Prison
Ramsey Orta, the man who filmed the death of Eric Garner as he was choked by NYPD officers in 2014, starts a four-year prison sentence Monday for selling heroin and illegal possession of a firearm. Orta, 25, believes he's been subject to extra scrutiny from cops because of his video, which captured Garner repeating, hauntingly, "I can't breathe."—VICE News

Colombian Voters Reject Peace Deal
Colombian voters have rejected a peace deal with Marxist FARC rebels in a shock referendum result, with 50.2 percent voting against it. President Juan Manuel Santos said he accepted the result, but a ceasefire should remain in place as negotiators scramble to make a new plan. "Peace will triumph," said the FARC leader known as Timochenko.—VICE News

Taliban Enter Afghan City of Kunduz
Afghanistan Taliban fighters mounted a coordinated attack on the northern city of Kunduz Monday, threatening a repeat of the operation that resulted in their seizing the city about a year ago. Police said Taliban fighters had holed up in houses and that security forces were preparing an operation to drive them out.—Reuters

Stampede at Protest Leaves 52 Dead in Ethiopia
The Ethiopian city of Bishoftu saw tragedy Sunday after police used tear gas and rubber bullets to break up a crowd of anti-government protestors—and a stampede resulted. Hungarian PM Declares Victory in Anti-Migration Referendum
