This Contest Is Going to Make Some Surfers Rich

Did you guys know summer's almost over already? What the shit, right? Global warming? More like "global warming." It's like 70 degrees over here. Oh well, at least there's a big fancy surfing contest in Long Island this weekend.

Actually, "big fancy" is an understatement. The purse for the Quiksilver Pro New York is $1 million, making it the most bougie contest in the history of surfing. It's also the first elite level showdown to happen anywhere on the East Coast because, let's face it, our waves sort of blow compared to the stuff they have out west.

The trials are on Sunday, and the contest starts Monday, September 5th and runs through the 15th. If surfing's not your thing, there will also be skating, music, and fashion stuffs happening. Go here for full info.
