Watch the Cast of 'Hamilton' Go Crazy to Prince’s 'Let’s Go Crazy' on Stage

There were many tributes to "The Purple One" last night, but this may be the best.

On Thursday night, people all over the world mourned the loss and celebrated the life of pop star and iconoclast Prince, who passed away at age 57. The Eiffel Tower in Paris, the Superdome in New Orleans, and Niagara Falls were lit purple in honor of the "Purple One." In Prince's hometown of Minneapolis, people gathered outside First Avenue—a nightclub he in part made famous—and threw a party in the streets.

The streets of New York City were swarming with their own impromptu tributes—fans gathered outside the Appolo Theater in Harlem for a rousing sing along, Spike Lee held a dance party outside his Brooklyn home, and Roots drummer Questlove scheduled a last minute DJ set at Brooklyn Bowl to pay his respects.

Chances are Questlove's buddy and collaborator Lin-Manuel Miranda would've been by his side had not been performing his hit currency-influencing show Hamilton. But just before showtime Thursday, Miranda took to Twitter to offer advice to those mourning Prince's passing: "Step away from your computer. Walk around, blast some Prince. It's the only thing that has saved my day, it may save yours."

Then after curtain call, Miranda and the cast hit the stage again and broke out into an infectious mini-performance-slash-dance party of Prince's "Let's Go Crazy." The amazing moment was captured by an audience member via video, and you can also watch it from a different angle in the tweet below. RIP Prince Rogers Nelson.
