Spike Jonze is one of those guys who doesn't need an introduction, because whether you know it or not, chances are that you're familiar with his work. Influential skateboard video Mouse? Spike. Fatboy Slim video where Christopher Walken proved that white guys can dance sometimes? Spike again. Oscar-winning meta-dramatic-film-adaptation Adaptation? You guessed it. He even directed last month's loosely scripted YouTube Awards as well, where he effortlessly broke down the fourth wall using his video witchcraft.

This past week, we hosted screenings of his latest movie Her in New York and Los Angeles. The film is about a man (Joaquin Phoenix) who inadvertently finds love in a non-sentient being/operating system (voiced by Scarlett Johansson) after a failed marriage.
At our after-parties (which were rife with booze from our pals at Duvel and Absolut) attendees were able to enter Her confessional booths that mimicked the frightening but plausible reality of having an intimate moment with a computer—in hindsight, a clever ruse where we were fed liquor and ushered into booths where we involuntarily spilled our guts on camera.Her comes out on December 18, just in time for that special day of year where you eat Chinese food with your family and ignore each other at a movie theater.
