A new poll released Wednesday by Quinnipiac University suggests white guys really, really prefer Donald Trump to Hillary Clinton.The poll of 1,561 registered voters in late May found that both whites with college degrees prefer Trump to Clinton, 46 percent to 38 percent. Whites without college degrees prefer Trump to Clinton by a heftier margin: 55 to 28 percent.But when you split the college degree-less sample up by sex, women are split right down the middle, with 41 percent supporting Trump and 40 percent Clinton. White dudes without college degrees, however, overwhelmingly support the Republican, with a whopping 60 percent (of this admittedly small sample) indicating they favor him.The poll is just another reminder that the November general election is going to be extremely tight, forcing American voters to basically pick whichever candidate they hate least.
