Meet Trevor Noah, New Host of 'The Daily Show'

The 31-year-old South African comic will be taking over for Jon Stewart later this year.

This morning, Comedy Central announced that Daily Show correspondent Trevor Noah will replace Jon Stewart as host when Stewart steps down in the coming months. Noah, a 31-year-old South African comic, is a relative newcomer to American television. He made his US debut on Jay Leno three years ago and appeared on Letterman before joining the Daily Show staff in 2014. Noah has already hosted numerous talk shows in his home country, including South Africa's Tonight with Trevor Noah. "Trevor Noah is an enormous talent," Michele Gainless, president of Comedy Central, said in a press release. "He has an insightful and unique point of view, and, most importantly, is wickedly funny."
