HAVE YOU HEARD OF THESE GUYS?
I got tipped off about Zouo by a friend of mine who had previously gotten me into G.I.S.M., so I knew they were going to own. Both bands, plus Ghoul, played thrash in an almost black-metal style, with shockingly low production values and a heavy dose of satanic darkness. Zouo's only release, "The Final Agony" seven-inch, was released in 1984, so I am guessing they never heard any first-wave black metal, as it didn't really exist at the time (Bathory's debut came out the same year (though after G.I.S.M.'s) but there's absolutely no way it could have made it to Osaka). Anyway, here's my favorite track off the aforementioned only release (they also feature on two tracks on 1984's Hardcore Unlawful Assembly compilation, btw), from the side entitled "Evil". Enjoy.
