Shaun White almost died on the SuperPipe
In case you missed it, Shaun White almost died practicing for the X Games. No joke, that ginger-headed maniac lost his helmet and then bashed his neck/head in an fall that looked pretty damn un-survivable. Our very own Trevar Cushing had this to say about the spill:
“He scorpioned the deck with his face! Yeah, I thought he was either dead or was going to need extensive face reconstruction surgery. Then he gets up and only has a rug burn. I seriously thought he was going to be dead: decapitation-style execution. At the time I thought ESPN aired a live decapitation.”
White went on to win SuperPipe gold, an hour after the fall. How does he do it? His super-secret, accessible-by-helicopter-only half pipe in Colorado might have something to do with it.
