Solange and Saint Records' Stunning Compilation Album "Saint Heron" Is Streaming Now

Solange's Compilation of Buzzing Artists is a Must Listen.

Jhené Aiko's new project, Sail Out, is streaming today, and we just premiered the video for "The Worst." But that's not the only R&B you'll want to hear today, because Solange's Saint Records just released a compilation project of some of the best, and promising R&B visionaries out right now, called Saint Heron.

Remember Solange's #DeepBrandyAlbumCuts Twitter convo, when she observed that those writing about R&B were, in fact, not familiar with its past? (Especially since all of the experimental music that took the industry by storm within the past year or two is, well, nothing new.) It started the #DeepBrandyAlbumCuts trend thankfully, but it looks like Solange channeled a lot of her frustrations into curating the 12-track album showcasing 11 different artists, too.

The project kicks off with BC Kingdom, the Los Angeles-based duo, who blend pop, R&B, and electronic vibes into "Lock Up." Up and comer Jade de LaFleur's September-released "Jaded" song showcases her lush, layered vocals over simple production, followed by Kelela, whose Cut 4 Me tape has pushed her into the spotlight along with a few mesmerizing performances at CMJ this year.

Jhené Aiko and Cassie—both of whom released standout projects this year, Sail Out and RockaBye Baby respectively, are two of the more mainstream features, both offering brand new songs to the mix. Other features include Sampha, whose recently released Drake-less "Too Much" track shows how vocally stunning his music is—even for those who unfamiliar with his Dual EP, which features "Beneath The Tree." LA-based singer/songwriter/producer Iman Omari showcases his ecclectic vibes on "Energy" and Starchild's got his pop-infused, spacy "Relax," too. Singer/Producer Yannick Illunga (Petite Noir) brings his "Noirse (Pivotal Remix)" to the project, and India Shawn revisits "I'm Alive" off of her debut project, Origin.

Solange's "Cash In" completes the project. Stream it in full now on Spotify, and pray to rid the world of the term PBR&B now.
