What the hell New Zealand? You’ve been holding out on us big time. Corporal Willie Apiata here is a Victoria Cross winning member of NZ’s SAS. Having come off a two-year media and book tour (every minute of which I’m sure he hated), he’s now back in Afghanistan doing what he does best: kicking ass, and looking gorgeous.

This picture was taken earlier this week, moments before a gunfight which left three Taliban soldiers dead.

I repeat. Deadly gunfight. Look at him! No helmet! Just a rugged beard, brooding eyes, and a “taking care of business” expression that’s starting an insurgency in my undies.
