Last month I went skating with some friends around London’s most famous and historical spots.

In the 1980s I was in bands, three or four guys trying to play music together. It wasn’t necessarily good or well practiced, but they were always like, “Hey, let’s try to play that song again. Let’s prove we can actually write this stuff.”

Wire occupy a special place in the history of London 77. Unlike all the bands who broke up after losing steam only to cash in 20 years down the road with reunion after reunion, they never lost steam.
