The Portland, Oregon, music scene is where ukulele cover bands roam free and eunuch singer-songwriters are still king. Thankfully, the city's more recent musical export seeks to destroy their city's trademark twee-vegan-who-makes-art-bikes sound. Take recent Far Possum signees Unknown Mortal Orchestra. After releasing just one track, UMO announced they were scooped up by the influential Mississippian label. Now, their first full length is scheduled for release on June 21st. Until then, enjoy their first single and be happy that this band has finally declared war on Portland's last few decades of creative stagnation.
