When the media talks about the city of Cleveland, it's always a negative narrative. We're sure you've heard it all before, from the jokes about losing Lebron James to South Beach to talks of the psychos who kidnap women and hide their rotting bodies next to sausage factories. Let everyone else tell it, the city is a day late and dollar short for everything. But despite the bad rap, Cleveland is actually an incredible place. It's the home of awesome things like Bone Thugs-N-Harmony and Polish boy sandwiches, which is a fried Polish sausage in a hoagie bun covered in barbecue sauce and topped with french fries and cole slaw.Cleveland is also filled with a ton of wildly interesting and peculiar people, which is why photographer Peter Larson calls the city his home. In this selection, Peter captured an annual Fourth of July celebration on the city's West Side in the Gordon Square neighborhood where podunk citizens set off weapons-grade fireworks right in the middle of their street.
