VICE’s Alex Hoban went to Canada before last year finished to ply his close friend Gavin Haynes with acid and humiliate him in public. While he was there, he found this book called Sex and the Single Dog. We think it was published in the 1960s or 70s or something, but the internet has no idea who the author is. It’s essentially a collection of pictures of dogs with captions that make it sound like they’re whores or convicts on death row or blind or whatever. Alex thought it was funny in a proto-LOLcats kind of way, and we agreed, because we’re always keen to learn about the different ways in which human beings have belittled animals throughout the ages.
