TORONTO – ZANTA

We have a new Toronto intern named Patrick. Even though he seems a little gleeby we still liked him enough to give it a go. Partially because he's got a funny beard but mostly because we were tired of sifting through intern applications and just picked the first one that didn't claim to have been "into Vice since it was called Voice" (which, for the record, would either put you in your mid- to late-30s or mean you were really into reading about drugs at age 7). We also like Patrick because last year he spent a bunch of time hanging out and documenting Zanta, the craziest Toronto street crazy since that guy who stands around Osgoode Hall with a dozen live rats hanging off his arms.

Kenny vs. Spenny fans may recognize him as potential roommate #1 in the episode where Spenny walked off the show. Unfortunately Zanta's not around much anymore since getting banned from the downtown core and the Toronto Transit System. Last we heard, he was thrown in jail and his lawyer's appealing his case pro bono, which hopefully means he'll be back on the street sometime soon, yelling at people, doing topless knuckle pushups on the sidewalk in a Santa Hat, and just generally making Toronto the kind of place worth living.
