TMZ Tracked Down Lagwagon’s Joey Cape for Some Reason

Witness the bizarre intersection of celeb gossip and Fat Wreck bands.

Lagwagon's Joey Cape is what you might call a "punk celebrity." At any given show or festival, he might get a few photo requests or some aging punks telling him how they lost their virginity to Let's Talk About Feelings (and he'll listen because he's a genuinely nice guy who cares about your sex stories!). But on the street, he's just your average 50-year-old dude with blue hair. So it was sort of weird then, when celebrity gossip vultures TMZ descended on him to ask him some questions.

Cape, who is on the road with Me First and the Gimme Gimmes, was stopped outside what looks like the Sirius XM building while wearing his band uniform and asked what the craziest place he ever woke up was, to which he responded, "a trash compactor in Germany." Cut back to Harvey Levin and his gaggle of peppy chucklefucks in the studio as they share a good giggle about how often homeless people die in dumpsters. lolz.

The whole thing is a great reminder of how spot-on this TMZ parody was in Popstar: Never Stop Never Stopping. Just a bunch of vapid LA leeches with no other professional skills blabbing about absolutely nothing (not like us esteemed bloggers!).

Anyway, here is the clip below if you'd like to witness the bizarre intersection of celeb gossip and Fat Wreck bands.
