Tyson Jost's First NHL Goal Moves His Adorable Grandpa to Tears

Jost's grandpa has made the final few games of the Colorado Avalanche's terrible season bearable.

Tyson Jost's crying grandpa Jim can't stop stealing the spotlight.

The legend of Jim Jost has only grown since the proud grandpa was first captured crying last week, ahead of the Colorado Avalanche rookie's first career NHL game.

Jim added to his own lore on Thursday night, as he appeared on the videoboard again shedding tears of joy after Tyson scored his first career NHL goal. The goal came on a play in which Jost received a tipped pass from Rocco Grimaldi, maneuvered through a loose stick, and fired one into the upper corner past Minnesota Wild goaltender Devan Dubnyk.

"It's amazing. I'm a little bit disappointed that I couldn't have my mom in the stands," Jost said after the game. "She had to go back home and work and look out for my sister, but it's great to have my grandpa. He's kind of my secret weapon throughout my whole life. He knows a lot about hockey. I don't think people realize how great of a hockey mind he has."

But Grandpa Jost wasn't finished there. He immediately sought comfort in a bucket of popcorn, downing a fistful the only way he knows how.

Jost's emotional moments have provided something for fans of the worst team in hockey to smile about. But, in typical Colorado fashion, the Avalanche went on to lose the game 4-3.
