Watch the Tiniest Chef In The World Cooking a Traditional French Stew

Watch a projection-mapped mini chef that is better than 'Ratatouille'.

Thanks to 3D projection mapping and motion capture technology, now you can watch the smallest chef in the world cook your dinner from scratch on the table right in front of you. Visual artist and filmmaker Filip Sterckx and painter Antoon Verbeeck make up the artistic collective known as Skullmapping. The two artists specialize in experimental optical illusions, combing Oculus Rift VR technology and 3D projection mapping to produce a number of crazy reality-bending projects. Their immersive visuals have been projected onto buildings and now on an intimate dinner table.

Last week, the collective released the second edition of their mini-mapping series entitled Le Petit Chef (The Little Chef). In their first rendition, the miniature chef turns your dish into a protected grill and cooks a steak with roasted veggies. The project created a lot of buzz and even made it onto a Spanish TV show where Hugh Jackman had the honor of meeting The Little Chef. In their latest episode The Little Chef prepares a bowl of Bouillabaisse, a traditional French stew, while fending off a disgruntled Kraken. It's deliciously whimsical.
