Diego Simeone's Niño Steals the Show From El Niño

Father and son celebrate win against hated rival and prove that CR7 is not the cutest.

On Wednesday, once prolific but now journeyman striker Fernando Torres started a match for Atletico Madrid for the first time since June 17, 2007. It just so happened that El Niño's return to Atletico-where he began his senior professional career in 2001-came against rival Real Madrid in the Copa del Rey round of 16. The Colchoneros beat Real Madrid 2-0 with goals from Raul Garcia and Jose Gimenez, making it a happy return for Torres, who rejoined Atletico last week on loan from A.C. Milan.

But it was Atletico Manager Diego Simeone's son, Giuliano, who stole the show. After Jose Gimenez's game clinching goal in the 76th minute, Simeone roared in celebration and then turned to his son, the team's ball-boy, who jumped into his father's arms. What a moment for father and son, who surely must have relished a little bit of payback against the team that broke their hearts in the UEFA Champions League final last year. And really, who wouldn't savor a win against Cristiano Ronaldo?
