Forget teledildonics, we’ve now entered the era of the robo-butt. The product of the University of Electro-Communications in Tokyo, Shiri (Japanese for “buttocks”) is the robotic rear that you see above.Shiri was developed by grad student Nobuhiro Takahashi, who made headlines last year for his internet kissing simulator. Now he’s taken things to the next level by replicating the fine muscle movements of our derrieres, which he argues will help cyborgs express emotions by being capable of more organic movements. Of course, when I look at that pulsing, jiggling artificial ass, I wonder what emotions he’s talking about.Actually, scratch that. I (as well as other booty-bass aficionados) know exactly what he’s talking about.Follow Derek Mead on Twitter: @drderekmead.
